The Hillside team
Russ Burton
Our founder and director, Russell is the environmental project manager who leads and guides you through your transition to carbon-neutral.
With a history in Property and Facilities Management, he has developed CSR agendas for FTSE 100 businesses and Public Sector authorities.
His passion? Developing a clear focus on the relationship between the buildings we occupy, the suppliers we use, and how they can contribute to an effective environmental program.
Laura Bishop
Laura is an IMechE Chartered Mechanical Engineer, who collaborates with Hillside on the design of renewable energy systems.
She has spent over 14 years working for companies including Bombardier Transportation, Rolls Royce Fuel Cell Systems, Babcock Intec and E.ON Connecting Energies.
In 2014, with a drive to deliver carbon-neutral solutions, Laura launched her own engineering design practice "Infinitas" and through this business, covers the technical engineering and associated design functions of the projects we deliver.
Louise Horbury-Speed
Louise is our Business
Co-ordinator who ensures our clients receive an exemplary experience.
With a varied background in sales administration, and account and project management, she leads the customer service process for Hillside.
Louise has worked in sectors from FMCG to Manufacturing and more, so brings her expertise to our diverse clientele.
Nathan Burton
Nathan, our Operations Manager, brings 10 years of experience in renewable energy project management and business development.
Nathan has successfully delivered a range of innovative projects, including the first green hydrogen refuelling station in the Northwest of England.
His knowledge across different renewable technologies positions him as a key player in achieving HI Group's sustainable goals.
Frankie
Corrado
Frankie, with 30+ years of experience, is our skilled Project Manager, specialising in construction and civil engineering projects worldwide.
He holds PRINCE 2 and NEBOSH qualifications, showcasing his aptitude in leading and designing complex projects.
From managing de-carbonisation works at Gloucestershire College to serving 24 years with the Royal Engineers, Frankie’s diverse experience makes him a vital asset to the HI Group team.
Murray Burton
Murray is our Project Design Manager, who handles the technological aspects and supply chain development.
His extensive career experience means he also supports Hillside with various business requirements such as engineering and design.
He has worked with businesses around the world, founded his own company, and worked with household names like WH Smith, Next, Dixons Carphone, and Mothercare. So we are really pleased to have him as an asset to the Hillside team.
Adam Morris
Adam is our Assistant Project Engineer, who supports the business with the technical aspects of project development.
Following a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
he has developed a specialism in Heat Pump Engineering and Renewable Energy System Design and Development.
We look forward to supporting him in working towards becoming a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.

Fernandes
Nuno Fernandes serves as our Project Engineer, holding an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems. Specialising in renewable energy systems and industrial efficiency, he relishes the opportunity to tackle complex challenges.
Nuno is not only technically adept but also highly approachable, committed to demystifying the complexities of energy systems for our clients.
Keith
Yung
Keith Yung is our accomplished Mechanical Engineer, boasting an MSc (Eng) from the University of Hong Kong and a range of professional memberships.
With a robust portfolio covering everything from central chilled water plants to underground railway tunnel systems in Hong Kong and China, he embodies our commitment to both technical mastery and sustainable innovation.
Richard Mort
Richard is the finance executive that supports all of the commercial elements of your renewable energy project.
He has a clear focus on sustainability and the role investment and project financing plays in enabling the delivery of high-quality, carbon-neutral solutions.
As a chartered accountant, with a career in the water utilities, engineering, contracting and renewable energy sectors, he is a passionate advocate of well-structured commercial models and providing long term returns for all stakeholders.
Gail Scholes
Gail is an energy management leader covering local authority infrastructure and master planning.
She has over 30 years' experience in sustainability and climate change, managing low-carbon projects for East Midlands
Electricity, Leicester City Council, Loughborough University, Nottinghamshire County Council and
Nottingham City Council.
With an MSc in Energy and Sustainable Development, one of Gail's key strengths is engaging teams, staff and stakeholders
in low-carbon transitions.
We're a confirmed signatory to the Supply Chain Sustainability School People Matter Charter.
It means we commit to addressing challenges and ensuring fairness across workplace issues such as diversity & inclusion, exploitation, wellbeing, employment conditions, wages, and training & skills.
The school has been recognised for its work with the 2022 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.
Hillside is a qualified Ceequal Assessor and CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant. Plus, we follow ISO14001, ISO 50001, Carbon Accounting International Standards GHG Protocols, and SECR Compliance. So, we leave no stone unturned when it comes to compliance and regulations.
